Information about the interview

104-year-old war veteran talks about Stalingrad. This 104-year-old eyewitness and war veteran was born in 1921 and is one of the very last survivors of Stalingrad. As a young soldier who was drafted in 1941 at the age of 19, he experienced not only the winter of 1941/42 on the Eastern Front, but also Stalingrad in 1942. As a 104-year-old eyewitness, he describes in this eyewitness interview for peace: – How he reached the age of 104 – How he experienced World War II, including in Stalingrad. – How he was encircled in Stalingrad and was able to break out of the Stalingrad pocket – How he ended up in Soviet captivity as a prisoner of war at the end of World War II – What, as one of the last Stalingrad survivors, he thinks today about current events – What matters in life – and much more.
