Interview Information
A 100-year-old war veteran recounts Stalingrad. This 100-year-old contemporary witness survived World War II on the Eastern Front. The 100-year-old was conscripted in 1941 and arrived in Russia in 1942. In 1944, he was taken prisoner and, among other things, had to march through Moscow with 50,000 other prisoners in the spring of 1944. From May 1944 to November 1947, he was a prisoner of war in Stalingrad. I had the great honor of interviewing this 100-year-old survivor of Stalingrad. This 100-year-old World War II veteran tells us today: – how he was on the Eastern Front in Russia – how he survived 4 years as a prisoner of war in Stalingrad – how he returned home – how he met his wife – his life wisdom from 65 years of marriage – what advice he would give you – what he would do differently in life today.
